We treat all riders and horses with respect and consideration.
Riders are welcomed without regard to what level they have achieved in their pursuit of horsemanship. We recognize that we all started our journey at some point in our life and we are all continuing at our own pace, and there is always more to learn.
Riders have priority over lunging when using the indoor and outdoor riding arenas.
Safety will be priority for horses, riders, and this facility.
Riders are responsible for ensuring that their horses are under control and do not endanger others by misbehaving, kicking, rearing, or otherwise making it unsafe for less experienced riders to share the arena.
If your horse is not under control, please excuse yourself from the arena until the other riders have finished.
Riders sharing the arena will follow the "rules of the school".
faster gaits on the outside track
pass "left shoulder to left shoulder"
request permission to enter arena
always maintain awareness of other riders in the arena
shut gates when entering or leaving the arena
extend courtesy to others handling horses
avoid frightening horses by making loud noises or sudden movements
Pets must be leashed.
Children must be supervised at all times.
Riders desiring private use of the arena need to coordinate with other boarders to ensure schedules are compatible. A calendar can be made available for this purpose.
Riders are responsible for cleaning arenas and grooming area after use.
Paddocks are for turnout (arena is reserved for lunging or riding)
Horses needing to be moved for stall cleaning, are to be placed in an empty stall, a paddock, pasture, or grooming bay.
Advice is shared with other riders with an attitude of respect and given in a constructive and helpful manner.
Hillcrest Stable has strict no use of alcohol.
While all styles of riding are embraced, we acknowledge that the basic fundamentals of Dressage apply. Learn more....
